Is there any functional difference between a RAW Material and a Product Part other than how I would characterize the component, in other words I can make each available for sale and it seems that all the other functions/data fields are the same. Are there calculations made on one type and not another? If I have a forging that I purchase that I then have to machine, that forging would be a "RAW MAterial", that seems readily apparent. However, if I have an item A that I get from a supplier that is has all machining completed, that serves as the base of a product that I assemble, in my eyes item A could also be considered a "RAW Material" as it is the base for an assembled product. So the question is there any functionality difference between them or am I free to characterize items as I see fit?
