Limit "Enable WC's Manage Stock" to the selected Variation

When selecting a product variation and clicking "Enable WC's Manage Stock", ATUM activates product-level stock management for all other variations as well as the mother product. How can this be disabled?

To explain the situation:
We need product-level stock management only for selected variations, selecting it for all of them actually stops our shop system from working as they are controlled by a script (depending on stock status in the central warehouse of our supplier).

Sorry, but I don't understand. Where are you clicking "Enable WC's Manage Stock", please?

We are selecting the single variation in stock central, click "bulk edit - Enable WC's Manage Stock". ATUM then not only activates for this single variation, but for all variations and the parent product as well.

This leads to the problem that all Variations jump to "out of stock" and get "0" as stock level, even if we had them on "in stock" before without a specific stock level

any update on this?
It seems like a change in the variation sets the parent product to "don't allow backorder", which leads to lots of "out of stock" messages in our shop as we only have stock quantities in the variations but of course not in the parent product..
