I have an general question concerning Multi-Inventor and our scenario with serial warehouses.
Our situation: We have one warehouse (warehouse 1, big main warehouse) where the products from our distributor are delivered to (big boxes) and stored. Then there is our small second warehouse (warehouse 2, small shipping warehouse), where small amounts of the products are stored and finally where packed for shipping to save time. As soon, as the warehouse 2 runs out of products, we refill it from warehouse 1. We need to get a notification, that in the small warehouse some products run out of stock - but in the frontend in Woocommerce this products stays availabe for sale until the first warehouse (main) runs out of stock. Writing this lines, I realise, that the whole process is quite complex.
So my general idea for our scenario was, that the MI Module is able to do the following:
1. I have a default stock in WooCommerce per product, that can be edited via store central in a table
2. MI creates a second "stock" / "warehouse" as column in stock central and the second one is visible in ever product, as long as I do not delete the second warehouse globally (for all products)
3. If I like, I can change the amount in a table-view for every product (like the default stock central view)
4. As soon, as I see, that in warehouse 2 runs out of products, i can somehow do an "internal transfer" of a product from warehouse 1 to warehouse 2.
Here is a visualisation how I imagine the view in stock central:
Here is the visualization how i image the view in the edit screen of one product (here an variable product with 2 variations):
To be hornest, I have the feeling, that MI is not built for this scenario, right?
Thank you very much for your answers. 🙂
