Multi-Inventory Add-On Help

Hello! I have successfully installed the Multi-inventory add-on to my ATUM plugin. Now I need to start from scratch and add the required functionality to my website. I need help to start with. For example, adding multiple stores to my atum inventory and then configuring the GEO location tracking etc. Is there any documentation on that?

Yes. I found it but I'm unable to find that how do I add inventories in bulk and assign them the products at all? I'd be creating inventories based on different store locations in different cities and what I want is that when an order is placed, it routes to the right store. (most nearest to store's location).

The only way to create inventories in bulk is by using our ATUM Export PRO add-on.

With it, you can create the inventories for any product (as a base), export them as CSV, edit the file copy/pasting the inventories for each product and import the file back.

Well why do I have to buy another add-on for such a basic feature that this addon demands. Tell me any other way around like it's not possible to edit 3000 products one by one and add the store inventory there. There should be a way to create inventories separately and then link the products to appropriate inventory.

With Multi-Inventory, the inventories are linked to individual products and are not generic for all of them (as each product can have different stock quantities, prices, etc), that's why there is no way to create the inventories separately.
It's on our plans to add new functionality to create templates that can be applied to products (for the identical parts only, but not sure when this will be available though).
So, if you want to create the inventories for your 3000 products at once, the only way I can suggest is with ATUM Export PRO add-on.

Any update on this? Isn't there any way to specify the inventories of the products from excel sheet in bulk?

Importing an excel sheet (a CSV file) is just what you would do with ATUM Export PRO

This add-on does not affect nor provide any of those features. As these can be covered by other ATUM add-ons.
With the ATUM Export PRO, you can export/import data, just that.

If you need to trial the add-on before purchasing, you can do so on our demo site.

Yes I know but since I've already purchased ATUM Multi-Inventory and before doing so we had a long conversation in the ticket I mentioned above.

First off, help me setup one product so I can test the behavior of the multi-inventory add-on. So let me explain it from scratch, let's say we have 3000 products on Woocommerce currently and they belong to one physical store which is of the city called Peshawar. What I'd like to do is to create another inventory for my other store located in Islamabad, most of the products will be the same, there might be some different products. Anyways, once I setup both inventories then for example a customer from Islamabad places an order so I would like them to get shipped from there and also use the inventory from Islamabad. Same goes for the other cities. If it can't be done on city level, we can do it on region basis for example in my case, Islamabad is a separate state and city at the same time while the city Peshawar belongs to the KPK state so we would like to setup something like this and then regarding the reporting, I hope we can easily distinguish what inventory has been used for a certain order so there's no confusion while distributing revenue etc.

If you set it up in that way, it'll work exactly as you described, indeed.
And within the orders, you can see which inventory(ies) were used for every order item. So no confusion at all 😉

Had you a chance to test out the add-on and to read all the documentation?

Anyway, this is how you should proceed for every product:

Enable Multi-Inventory for the product (or globally if you want to enable it for all your products)
Create the WooCommerce shipping zones you want to use in Inventories (regions or whatever you need)
Enable the shipping zones restriction mode from ATUM settings
Assign one of the regions to the Main inventory (and you can rename it if wished)
Create a new inventory and assign the other region to it.

@Salva Thank for the detailed clarification. So if I enable shipping zones restriction in the settings, it normally asks the user for their zone, isn't there any way to do it without sending a prompt to the user? Also, will it handle the city level restrictions?

You can use the Geoprompt popup or the User Destination Widget (that's practically the same but can be added to any WP sidebar as a widget).
But if you don't ask the visitor about their address, you can't know it.

If you set the region restriction mode to "countries", ATUM can geolocate the visitor's IP and to use that country to adjust stocks but is not possible to geolocate a full shipping address (when used the shipping zones mode).

I see. Alright. I will give it a try and let you know. But is there any way to deal it on the city level instead of region level? Because for example, if a region XYZ has 2 stores and a city ABC is close to one of these, how are we going to route them to the closest store?

If you set your shipping zones as cities, you are free to only ask for the city on the Geoprompt's form.
