Low Stock Threshold

Can Atum not track or show low stock threshold in Stock Central? This seems like a huge limitation and is a metric we commonly use to plan our purchase orders. It also appears that there is not a way to have low stock threshold for item variations. WooCommerce at least has some type of low stock threshold on the simple products. Is a better low stock/reorder point functionality something that could be accomplished with one of the add-ons? Or is it just a lacking feature as of right now.

Thank you very much for your post and question.

Low stock threshold is a broad term and as you said WC has it already built in for their email notifications.
It is not true Stock Central is missing such feature as it has a low stock indicators according to your ‘Days to reorder ‘ settings.
Regarding POs and auto or quick ordering it is as you said missing feature as of right now. I have designed a complete Ordering Premium addon that will be starting the development later this year.

We do not order based on a days to reorder kind of system. We operate by when we get to a certain threshold we place an order for more of our products from out manufacturer. Due to this we really need to be able to see the low stock threshold in whatever we use to monitor inventory which we would like to be Atum. So while it isnt a missing feature per se. Atum not showing the low stock threshold and having it accessible in stock central is a big detriment for us.

PermaDrain I am not sure we are on the same line here.

Days to re-order wants from you the number of days you need to get the new stock in so you never run out.
Stock Central will mark the product that is about to run out as LOW STOCK so you can place the order with your manufacturer in time.
WooCommerce already offers you to enter the value per product - yes that value is not yet shown in SC, but we do have this on the list of many SC improvements that we want to introduce in 2020.

I was wondering if this improvement (show WooCommerce low stock treshold per product in Stock Central) is expected to be implemented soon. And will this function be implemented in Manufacturing Central as well? That would be very helpful.

Yes, i believe that should work! The main thing i would like is to be able to change the low stock threshold from Stock Central but this should accomplish what i need for now.

We have the same problem, because our stock turnover is very low a days till reorder does not work for us as in some cases the stock turnover is so low the time in meaningless. We need the system to show out of stock when the stock level is below a set number.

It also will not work for us to have this setting on a different screen - the whole reason we installed ATUM was to get our stock level threshold and current stock into one place together.

Is there any solution for this? Can my developers modify the system?

This feature has been part of ATUM for a while now - set the out of stock value in Stock Central per product you need to control.

Not sure what you mean? Stock central has the current stock count and out of stock value as well.

Low Stock Threshold is a Woocommerce feature that you can set for all your products following this route: Woocommerce - Settings - Inventory - Low Stock Threshold. If you put 2 in this field, when a product will reach a stock of 2 items you will be notified by email.

In the other side, you can set this value for each product individually from the product page. You will see this option in the 'Inventory' tab.

Regarding pulling up all the products that are below the threshold, I guess you mean to show them out of stock... In this case what you need to set is the 'Out of Stock Threshold'. With Woocommerce you just can set a single value for each product, but with ATUM installed you can set a different Out of Stock Threshold value for each product. You will find this field in 'Inventory' tab as well.

Hello Pavel, I have read all the explanations in the documentation for your module as well as the explanations you gave on this post concerning the management of the out-of-stock threshold, but there is one thing I do not understand.

Why when the low stock threshold is for example at 3, customers can no longer order this product? The point of the stock threshold for me is simply to be able to warn me that I need to recommend this item quickly. But why prevent a customer from buying it when there are still 3 left in stock?

Is it possible to let customers order as long as the threshold is not at 0, while keeping a low threshold for my back office at 3?

Maybe I explained myself wrong. One thing is the Low Stock Threshold, and another thing is the Out of Stock Threshold.

Low Stock Threshold is a Woocommerce feature, and you can set it generally for all the products, or set a value for each product. If you have enabled the low stock notifications, when a product reaches that value you will be notified by email.

On the other hand, Out of Stock Threshold is also a Woocommerce feature. When a product reaches this value the product will be displayed as out of stock. For example, it can be used if you have an online store and a physical one. If you have 10 items, but you want to sell 5 from the physical store, you should set the Out of Stock Threshold value in 5 to be displayed as out of stock in the online store. In addition, As I said, it's a Woocommerce feature, but with ATUM you can set a different Out of Stock Threshold value to each product.

Just to reiterate what others have said.
This plug-in looks very good, but not using the "low stock threshold" in a stock management software is crazy!
A lot of people use this field as it much more reliable than sales in the last x days especially when the purchase lead time which can be 3 months plus for some of my products.
With your plug in in the stock central there is the bizarre situation that the low stock listing does not include the products that are already below the low stock threshold.

Do you have a date when this option will become available. Many thanks and seems like a great plug-in apart from this.

Olá,

In regards to the "Out of stock threshold" I'm a bit confused. I'm trying to divide stock between an online store and a brick store, so...

I have a product, of which I have 30 units in stock in total. In ATUM I say I have 30, and I say I want an out of stock threshold of 10. This way I would have 20 to sell online and 10 to sell in the brick store. Or at least, that's what I thought. Please see attached printscreen to clarify what I mean, because English isn't my native tongue.

The system still allows me to order 30 units online. (I thought this would be a maximum of 20)

Picture 3:

I changed the full stock to 10 and kept the OOST at 10 aswell.

Picture 4:

I am unable to purchase this product.

As for what happens at picture 3 and 4, this is what we want, so that is great! But what goes wrong in the situation in picture 1 and 2?

Am I misunderstanding the possibilities of ATUM, am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Actually, this is the correct behavior of Out of Stock feature. It is used to determine that when stock reaches the out of stock value, it will be displayed as out of stock. But it's correct that it displays the real stock while it hasn't reached that value.

Regarding the POS questions, it will take a bit more to be released.
