HI EBSCOM ,
EBSCOM 1) I had a look at that documentation and gave up because it mixes up many different questions and doesn't answer mine without a huge amount of searching, which I don't have time for
ok, even though I am not sure what is it that you get mixed, but I respect your decision.
EBSCOM 2) How do I see on ATUM the daily or weekly inventory through history?
If you mean, to see changes over time and sales statistics? Not something ATUM does. You may try WooCommerce reports.
EBSCOM 3) please explain how I can "re-set" the starting inventory as of 1 April 2019 to the correct levels
I am very sorry, but no idea this is even remotely possible. WooCommerce would not allow you to do this as it is not built for such action. Mind you this has nothing to do with ATUM. ATUM is an addition to WooCommerce that has its limites.
EBSCOM 4) how do I import this into WC/Atum?
You can not as I mentioned in q 3
EBSCOM 5) will sales (what I call "orders) then adjust that starting balance to give me a correct stock level today?
Nope sales are closed records and WooCommerce does not keep track of changes in stock.
EBSCOM 6) if not, how do I import today's stock level?
You can change/import current stock the way you wish as I mentioned in my first reply.
EBSCOM 7) how do I tell ATUM to manage stock for all items? Where is this flag?
If you have not done it after the ATUM installation, you can use tools in settings.
EBSCOM 8) all items should be set up the same so there is no reason ATUM is not already managing all stock, but for some reason it is not
As I said, after the first installation and SC access ATUM will ask you if you want it to manage all itmes in SC. There is plenty of reasons you do not want to include some product types. Products you do not use create clatter that would just slow done the SC performance.
EBSCOM 9) telling to use "any tool" to export is not helpful. Please give me ONE tool and tell me exactly how to (i) import stock into ATUM (ii) export it at end of month
You do not export or import into ATUM. You do that in WooCommerce as ATUM only mirrors what you import into WooCommerce - unless there is data specifically created by ATUM. I will not tell you what tool to use as that way I would be responsible :-). 3rd party export import tools are all over the WP directory.
We will have shceduled exports available when our addon releases end of July.
EBSCOM 10) you didn't answer my point about how to export valuation for each item, ie price. Please explain how I export stock levels and unit costs for each of the 130 SKUs we stock.
you can only export unit costs (if you mean purchase price field added by ATUM) by using the tool we will release at the end of July.
Sorry, If I have not helped you here. From all your questions it seems you are little confused of what is WooCommerce and what ATUM doing. Even though it may be boring, I recommend you to read the full WooCommerce documentation and then ATUMs. At the end of the day it is the system that will run your business.
