How to handle variable material usage per virtual product option?

I’m using ATUM Product Levels in my WooCommerce store and I have a question regarding tracking material usage for products with multiple virtual options.

Here is my setup:

WooCommerce product: made-to-order clothing
Customers can choose options like size, length, material color, buttons, and embroidery using Advanced Product Fields (visual swatches, radio buttons, etc.)
Each product uses materials from a shared inventory (fabric rolls, buttons, embroidery threads)

The issue:

In ATUM, I can add materials to the product in the Bill of Materials / Product Levels tab
But I cannot assign different material quantities for different virtual options. For example, Size S uses 1.8 m of fabric, Size M uses 2.0 m. The same happens with colors – the purchased product subtracts material from all colors, not just the one that was selected.
Currently, ATUM subtracts all materials at the same quantity regardless of the customer’s selection

My question:

Is it possible to set up ATUM Product Levels to subtract different quantities of materials based on the virtual options selected by the customer?
If yes, could you guide me on how to configure this properly?
If not, what would be the recommended approach for tracking material usage in such a scenario?
I appreciate any guidance or best practices you can provide.

Hi webdesola

You can add distinct quantities of BOMs for each variation.
And also use distinct BOMs per variation.

I don't know if this will work with 3rd party plugins like the "Advanced Product Fields" you mentioned, though.
But, in regular WooCommerce variations, you can do all of that.

Perhaps your plugin is not creating real variations, and you cannot configure it that way for that reason?
