Hello ATUM Support Team,
I am currently using ATUM Inventory Management for WooCommerce and evaluating whether ATUM can support a specific barcode workflow that we require.
Our Use Case
WooCommerce variable products
Each variation has a static GTIN
We use GS1 DataMatrix barcodes with multiple Application Identifiers, for example:
(01) GTIN-14
(13) Production Date
(21) Serial Number
Example encoded value:
01006287740720251325011721CAPDAM-RLABL-2500001
What We Need
Print one GS1 DataMatrix label per order at fulfillment
The serial number (AI 21) must:
Auto-increment globally (e.g. 2500001, 2500002, 2500003…)
Be unique per order
Be saved with the order for re-printing/auditing
Printing is done on a normal printer (PDF or browser print)
Questions
Does ATUM currently support GS1-encoded DataMatrix strings (with AIs like 01, 13, 21), not just plain GTIN values?
Is there any built-in functionality in ATUM to auto-generate and increment serial numbers at order fulfillment?
Can ATUM generate barcodes at order level (not product level), and store the generated value in order metadata?
If this is not supported out of the box, do you have:
An add-on,
A recommended workflow,
Or documented hooks/filters that can be used to implement this cleanly?
We want to understand whether ATUM can handle this requirement natively, or if a custom integration alongside ATUM would be the correct approach.
Thank you for your time and guidance.
Best regards,
