Basket not allowing backorder

Hi there

I have items on my WooCommerce shop set to allow back-orders, but when I try to add more items to my basket and proceed to checkout, the basket only allows the quantity of item (as opposed to exceeding this and allowing a backorder). This may be having negative effects on our orders as customers are unable to order the necessary quantities. Please help, cheers :)
