BOM item only as an addition

Hi,

I would like to add to an existing products some aditions like a present to increase the purchase benefit.
The present is also listed as an product for purchase.
How to achieve this for a Product listing with Product Levels?

I want to offer a promotional product, such as a gift, alongside a standard, single product that I already sell. The gift item should be tracked and its stock should also be reduced upon purchase.

Currently, to offer a product bundled with a gift, I have to create a separate product listing for the combination.

Hi niwo ,

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but you can create a BOM product and link it to your single product.

Then, both products will have their stock discounted when the simple product is sold.

If you don't want to have the simple product stock automatically calculated, remember not to activate the BOM Stock Control option.

I see. In that case, what my colleague japiera has said in his last message is the way you can proceed.
All the BOM items you add to any product are always discounted when the "final" product is sold. No matter if the BOM Stock Control is enabled or not (that's up to you), the stocks will be reduced for all BOM items anyway.

So, if I only link the present to the single product and don't activate the BOM Stock Control Option, both products will be reduced from the stock?

Well, if you want to show both products (the one chosen by the user and also the present) on the cart and the checkout, this cannot be achieved with Product Levels.
Product Levels only reduces the stock of the BOM products when any "final" product is sold.
Perhaps you can use something like WC Product Bundles. I'm not sure.

Alternatively, you can do it with custom coding.

They don't need to show up.
The gift only should be reduced in stock additional to the main product.
