Hi floow95
How performant is ATUM on that scale. We have a very strong dedicated server, but of course it has it's limits which is why are careful what we bring to the website. Any experience on those higher volumes is of interest.
The limits are always marked by the server resources. ATUM can technically handle any amount of data.
But, of course, some hard operations can take more time to process, depending on the server resources.
But we have users with thousands of products like you using ATUM every day.
How flexible is your system in handling multi-warehouse or tiered inventory logic? For example, we often secure 50 units of a Pre-Sale item upfront, which are scheduled to arrive at our warehouse in a few months. These 50 units are guaranteed stock and should be prioritized for fulfillment once they arrive. However, we also want to continue selling the item beyond those 50 units in parallel—effectively allowing additional pre-orders or backorders beyond the initial secured quantity. Can your system support this kind of split inventory logic and dynamic fulfillment flow?
Backorders are handled by WooCommerce but are also supported by Multi-Inventory. We only recommend enabling them on the last inventory of your list, though.
So you can separate your product stock in multiple inventories and, once the top one is depleted, will continue using the next one (if configured that way).
I read that the mobile app should have a POS functionality. Is there any arrival time of the mobile app soon or will take most likely until 2026 or later?
Yes, will have a POS module and is in a very advanced stage of development but we still have no ETA for the release.
Given the info above what kind of extension would I most likely need for the whole setup?
For what you described, probably, Multi-Inventory.
If you need other addons, you can check their features and/or install their trials and test them up ;)
If you have further questions, please let us know.
Best Regards,
Salva.
