Hello,

I am not quite an expert PHP developer, but have been working for some years now to customize and make our own plugins for our website. I recently found ATUM stock management, and many of the procurement features will greatly benefit our business, but I'm looking at the trial and found some things I would like to add onto or extend before diving in completely and moving our business over to ATUM.

When I opened the plugin code to see if I could locate the various hooks and filters, I found the code to be like nothing I've ever seen before. There was a complete mess with a a bunch of "goto" statements with random strings and it was nearly impossible for me to follow along with what was going on. I could use some guidance.

Is there any sort of documentation for developers or a library I should be using to make following along in the code possible? Being able to customize is the primary, make-or-break difference, between going with this plugin and choosing a different alternative such as NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Thanks for your post.

Our code is obfuscated in the trial versions of our plugins for reasons we think are obvious. That doesn't happen in full versions. The code is well documented and formatted keeping the WordPress standards in full versions, the same as ATUM free.

Well that makes a lot of sense! Good thinking on your part. I will grab the full version today, hopefully the tweaks go as planned.

Some things I plan to do:

On Purchase Orders Pro, I plan to add a dropdown option for file where we can add a link for files stored on our network storage, this way we don't clutter our media library with all our po documents / invoices/ etc. Media library is already rather messy with the many photos of our products.

Add a field to the product, so there is visibility to the PO creator as to what the standard case / pallet multiples are.

I also am also looking into how the inventory location system is constructed; we use a bin-based system on our shelves, and the current pick-pack system leaves a lot to be desired in terms of tracking across bins.

Ok, thanks for understanding.

Regarding the customizations you plan, some customers use ATUM Multi-Inventory to set the distinct bins where a product can be stored. Maybe you'll want to take a look at it.
