japiera This would be an overkill since every product will have unique set of ID-s of inventories.
In the multiple warehouses scenarios the ID of the product and ID of the warehouse are known beforehand thus the batch update is fast and efficient.
Currently we had to resort to an abusive measure to download all inventories each time we do a massive supplier / warehouse inventory update and associate them to products to be able to perform bulk inventory update for specific products and inventories. We do not want to use a separate database to store these inventories IDs as there needs to be a single source of truth to avoid any inconsistencies between the systems.
It would be very helpful for the multiple warehouses usage scenarios to be able to update the inventory by product id and warehouse / inventory name (inventory names are unique, one cannot create several inventories with the same name for the same product, so in effect the inventory names can also be used as identifiers).
