Massive problems with ATUM Inventory

Great software with great marketing. But a lot of basics of inventory business is still not possible.

Stock qty in woocommerce product when completing PO. Why not possible to do that?
Why we can not add profit/margin per product? We see only option to enter a margin/profit overall. :-( That is not good for a real business to work with so much not-accurater values in statistics. How to do that better to have margin per product?
How to increase/decrease stock qty via barcode scanning like in other software? How to work fast and increase products by barcode scanning pls?
no predicted options of real history data possible. Why we need to do that with calcuclated fields like in a self-made-solution and not like professional solution based on real history data? That values woud be much accurater. How to do that better?
Why we can not have detailed statics and not only a simple dashboard with some general values? We tested may other inventory software and they have great reports in with a lot of export options. Some of them also have business analyse per category, sku and products overall. Also profit anylse per product, category, products aoverall and supplier. Your software is a paid solution and we can not do this basics with your software in 2023? 🙁 Do you plan to add this functions soon?

Let me answer some of these points for you.

Before I start, please know that ATUM was initially developed for the need of my very first company. We tried and helped users with their most urgent needs as the years went. Right now, the software is moving to a more professional approach. So, believe me; more features will come now that will require payment. At the end of the day, I need to pay developers to make this possible.

When you say stock quantity in WooCommerce products when completing a PO, what PO do you mean? The free ATUM feature? Where would you like to see stock info and what stock info, pls?
Profit margins are actually something I want to include in the next few months. We are already working on more precise costing of BOM that will reflect to the comparison of the selling price. However, right now in the free version the gross profit margin is calculated from the purchase price you can set per product. Alternatively, when you use the Product Levels add-on you can have the margin calculated from the actual BOM cost.
barcodes are coming in few months too - can not confirm all the features right now, but we already have barcode premium add-on developed and it goes to testing in September.
History data are a little complicated as far as I know. My developers had issues with many users with very large shops. Each prediction has to go through a lot of data that slows down sites. I believe WooCommerce does not have any table of historical data for sales. So first we have to develop that and they will be calculated from the day you install the feature.
Would you be so kind to name the software you are referring to? I guess these are not built into WooCommerce. The problem is to develop anything there that would work efficiently without any issues with other plugins from other authors using the same features.

Over all, if you need an advanced solution, I recommend looking maybe outside of WP and WC. I plan to bring ATUM out of WooCommerce in to a separate Web App, but that will take some time and money (2 years).

Hi Forum_Admin , we would like to start calculating our margin from the Purchase Order values in ATUM as indicated here. We have the Product Levels add-on activated. Can you tell us how to calculate margin? Is there a guide somewhere?

Now lets say the supplier send us the products (100 peaces) and i complete to order.
The stock status will increase +100 of the selected SKU in woocommerce or not?

You'd need to create a Delivery linked to the Purchase Order, but yes, it would increase the stock.

Yes, that is already possible.

ATUM includes a Purchase Price field to calculate the Gross Profit shown in Stock Central, creating POs, ...

When you link BOMs to a product, you can check the TOTAL BOM cost field to get the cost calculated from the BOMs Purchase Price, and if you activate the option "Sync Purchase Price", the parent product's field will be automatically updated with this value.

So the gross profit in Stock Central will reflect the margin.

hi @japiera , sorry to keep asking questions, I appreciate your help.
Final question: does this mean that when we have for 1 SKU:
1) purchase orders at varying costs
2) sales at varying prices
that both the varying purchase costs and the varying sales prices will be taken into account correctly in calculating the margin if we correclty link the BOMs to a product?
Or do the margin calculations only work with a fixed purchase cost and fixed sales price?

If this is not possible, is there a way to export all POs and all sales to a csv so we can calculate the margin ourselves?

No problem 😉.

I added links because there we explain how we calculate the gross profit:

The Gross Profit column displays the difference between the regular price and the purchase price.

We don't make any additional calculations regarding this, so we don't take into account the distinct purchase prices in POs or the sale prices. It's a simple calculation between two product fields.

You can use ATUM Export Pro to export sales and POs, but please note that Export Pro isn't yet compatible with HPOS and with the new Purchase Orders Pro entities (deliveries, invoices,...).
