control of order of items on PO

I see others have made this feature request before, so just adding my vote here. The ability to drag and drop to reorder PO items would solve a lot of specific types of re-ordering that I need. Some suppliers want things in SKU order, sometimes I want to group things into logical sets based on fundamentally arbitrary criteria, sometimes I need to modify a PO and need to insert an item into a specific spot in the list.

If either method of bulk-adding items preserved entry order, I could control the ordering at the time of entry, but right now it appears as if the items are being re-ordered by what I think might be creation date for the item. So the only method available to me of controlling the order of the items on the PO is to enter them singly...a task so tedious it encouraged me to pay for the PRO version. Bulk adding is awesome. Bulk adding with no practical control over how the items are being re-ordered is less than ideal for me.

OK, will do. But the thread I saw it in was a wide-ranging conversation that covered a lot of topics as the original poster kept coming back every time they had a new issue rather than creating a new thread for each. Humans. What can you do?

Salva Each product will have tags or categories in WooCommerce. For example, if I sell nails, screws, screwdrivers, and hammers, and they are set up with categories "fasteners" and "tools" in WooCommerce and, within that, tagged as "screws" "nails" "screwdrivers" & "hammers" I would like to be able to go to create a PO that sorts it by those categories & tags instead of just a mixed-up list of everything.

I don't use those tags & categories but we have 130 products from one vendor in different categories and they want the order sent over sorted so it's not a mess.

I see. With PO PRO, you can filter out a specific category and check all the checkboxes at once and use the bulk action to add all of them to a PO in bulk.

There is no way to sort or group items on a PO, but if you sort them on Stock Central like you want, perhaps this order will be preserved (I haven't tested it though).

When you initially create a PO, items are ordered as they are in Products & in Stock Central. I say "initially" because, if you go back and add an item later, it stays at the bottom regardless of its position in Stock Central.

The miss here is that variable products are sorted using the product name so, within that name, variations are all lumped together and the variations are what I'm trying to sort on the PO. I admit that example gets into a more specific use-case.

Aside from that specific situation, I do feel like being able to sort items on a PO is a fairly basic feature that would be useful/expected with inventory management software.

Of course. There is no relation between Stock Central and Purchase Orders' sorting.
When you create a PO from Stock Central, the products are added in order but, in the end, the PO items are ordered by their own item ID (that is a sequential number). So, if you later add a new item, this will have a higher ID and will be added to the end of the list. So it's the expected behavior.
