Hi EtherealGold
I'll be glad to reply to all your questions:
Does ATUM give any notification admin side when an item is going to expire?
Not actually, but it's a good suggestion for a future version...
Does ATUM allow you see see items that are going to expire within 90 days, 30 days etc?
ATUM doesn't hide any "expired" items in Stock Central. Just that those items will be marked as "out of stock" when expired and only if the "expirable inventories" option is enabled for that product.
Under region restriction mode, are we able to put each US state as a region, and restrict certain product inventories by state?
Yes. You can add as many regions as needed per inventory. And, when you enable the region restriction, it'll use the right inventories according to your configuration and the visitor/user address.
To clarify the first question, the BBE Date in the Stock Central is requiring us to expand the item to see the BBE date -- which means we can't see what's expired.
Oh, I understand now.
Yes, all the inventory props are collapsed by default in Stock Central.
However, we've recently added a new option to ATUM Settings to show all these columns by default if wished. This new feature will come in the next version.
One more question. Is there any way to share inventory between variable products? For instance, on one product we allow customers to purchase single units or packs of ten and would like to share the inventory between them so it shows 10 single units AND 1 bulk unit of 10 in stock.
The only way to handle this would be by using Multi-Inventory and Product Levels together. In this way, you can add the same BOMs to both of them, and when any of them is sold, the BOM stock will be reduced and this will cause both products' stocks will be adjusted accordingly.
But, please, read this article first that explains which is the right way to integrate both add-ons:
