Variant items with BoM in PO

Hi,

my idea is to have product variants with each having BoM with multiple product parts.
In order to make it easy to purchase from my supplier, I thought about just including the product variant and the PO Addon would get the BoM product parts on itself.
This would display to the supplier the BoM product parts which I need to form the product variant.

While creating the PO I can see the variant with the BoM product parts in a dropdown-list, but previewing the PO as a print I can't see the BoM product parts anymore. Only the product variant is visible.

Is it actually possible to achieve what I've described?
OR do I need to select each product part manually and count on a note the amount of parts I need to form the amount of product variants I want to have?

Hi niwo

The BOM tree was added there just for admin's information purposes. If you want to add it to the PDF, you can do so with custom coding or adding the BOMs to the PDF directly instead of adding the final product.

So, there is no feature that does work for me?
That means I must have a list of my sets with the BOMs and select each BOM manually from the stock central and adjust the correct amount on the pdf.

Are there any plans to make it more automatic?
I see a huge time-saving in this process because this would give the user the power of only entering the amount of stock for each set they need and the amount for each BOM will be calculated automatically.

What do you think about it?

No plans for now but I'm going to tag this thread as a feature suggestion and, if we see enough interest from our community, we'll decide if we develop this in the future.

But if you need this asap, I'd suggest you find a developer to do this customization for you.

I could find out, that if I create grouped products, it's easier to select the sets I want.
This is for now a workaround.

The most important for me is the be able to create sets and order them quickly without searching for each product part.

Yes, you can use grouped products or create bundles with the WooCommerce Product Bundles plugin that is 100% compatible with ATUM.
