Order by supplier not working as expected on variable products

Basically as I said in title when I order by suppliers it don't order the variable products.
Is this an intended feature or am I missing something?
I supose that it's related to the fact that you can't asign a "global" supplier on the variable product.
Buuuut I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or......
In this first image you can see that in single products it works as intended

In this one..... it order by god will haha

So.. Am I doing something wrong? Is it working as expected? I'm pretty lost, thanks in advance 😃

Sorry for the delay in replying. It seems we missed this post.
The reason for that is because the variations are on another level (so are children rows of the top-level that is where the variable is placed). So we can technically sort the first level only.
Let's say, for example, that you have a variable with 4 variations and each of them has a distinct supplier (one starting with "A", another one starting with "M" and another one starting with "Z"). How do would we sort them? If we allow sorting by the second level, the same variable parent would appear the first (no matter you sort ascending or descending). A thing that makes no sense to me...

Salva Oh, and it's planned that in the future we will have a function to assign a "father" supplier and be able to use the orders and the filters as I said in my first message?

At the moment we are not planning to create this functionality.
However, I forward your needs to the dev team. We'll discuss the possibility of adding this functionality in future versions.
