Stock Locations for variants

Right now the stock locations can only be set on product level but not on product variant level. We would like this feature because different sizes of our stock is kept in different places. Or is there something that i am missing that makes me able to do so?

Hi Jelle

If I understand you correctly, you are referring to Multi Inventory Locations.

If so, when you are working with variable products, you can activate multi-inventory on each variation independently. And work with them as if they were a multi-inventory product.

I don't know if this is exactly what i want. What i do want is that let's say i have a t-shirt in three sizes. That i can say size S is in the department A of the warehouse and size M is in department D in the warehouse. Does the multi-inventory add-on allow me to do this?

Hi Jelle

FYI, when you use ATUM free version only, the locations are just a custom WordPress taxonomy added to products and, the variations don't support taxonomies (they don't support locations for the same reason they don't support categories or tags).
However, you can achieve what you want by using our Multi-Inventory add-on. With this add-on, you can create one (or many inventories) per variation and also assign locations to each of them ;)
