ATUM Multi Inventory Cost of Goods / Reporting

Hi,
I emailed about this but yet to receive a response. A key reason we implemented Multi-Inventory is to have a clearer birds eye view of inventory including its effect on sales/customer orders.

Since ATUM for some reason does not integrate its COGS anywhere useful besides its Dashboard, we use the WC Cost of Goods Plugin and double input COGS so it makes P&L visible in orders and thus margins in WC Reporting (but not ATUM reporting).

Anyway, this plugin does not support ATUM MI, since it will not provide another COGS plugin per inventory on the same product. So for variable items (almost everything we stock), we'd be getting the COGS in the reports and order from the third party plugin which is often different from the FIFO inventory.

It's not this 3rd party plugin's fault. By right we shouldn't even need to use it since ATUM is already capturing COGS, just not really doing anything with this info. It could easily be solved by integrating COGS to WC Reports and WC customer orders.

Please, I beg you to make reporting and integration of COGS to orders. Because this critical gap is what's going to make many businesses serious about growth and margins move to a platform that is not even on WordPress, let alone using ATUM SaaS.

I should also note I've tried adding Cost of Good under each inventory (please purchase and regular price under each), assuming this is supposed to pull data for each order, however it doesn't save with MI, only the overall variation COG. I'm using COG plugin 2.10 (and also tested 2.8. Albeit regardless, as per my earlier message, there's no reason why this shouldn't be part of ATUM since it's already collecting data. It would save a lot of time not having to re-input this data in the 3rd party plugin.

And regarding the COG plugin. I'm sorry but we don't plan to add compatibility with that 3rd party plugin for now. If you need to integrate it with ATUM or to add any customizations to ATUM to work in the way you need, I'd kindly suggest you find a developer to assist you.

Salva Thanks for the reply. However the MI plugin is rather useless if the ATUM product pricing cannot be used in any report. Yes, it can still be used to track BBE. But we would be better off managing this off-platform. FIFO inventory with updated pricing has no way of any profit-loss on orders and products. As per my last para in the initial message, please, make reporting and integration of cost of goods to orders in-built with ATUM infrastructure. Because this critical gap is what's going to make many businesses serious about growth and margins move to a platform that is not even on WordPress, let alone using ATUM SaaS.

Thank you very much for your reply, I can agree with you on this.

What you are describing is advanced control management. Please, keep in mind that we have never described, nor claimed for MI to include all this. That is why we offer demos to try out.
Multi Inventory is to give WooCommerce users the ability to track batches and use expiry dates and such in coop with Product Levels to get simple manufacturing recipes going.
If you search our forums, you'd find out that COGS is part of our future development planning. ATUM is to become the complete solution in years to come but is far from that right now.

Reporting and integration of COGS to orders will come to ATUM sometime in 2023 and will be completely independent. We have discussed already making WC COGS compatible with ATUM, however, every time we make our plugin compatible with 3rd party we spend hours and hours every week to just keep monitoring any changes those plugins make. You can see that this is not the way forward so we decided to build our own plugin/add-ons portfolio.

Feel free to leave a suggestion post (in the suggestions part of the forum) where you describe in detail what you expect from these features. I am always researching these posts when planning new upgrades.

PS2: ATUM is capturing COGS and showing them in SC as a cost of an item. When installed with Product Levels you can have 100 products levelled in a recipe and the COGS will be calculated. So that is why we introduced the Purchase Price field. As well as that, users have the ability to enter their PP now, so when new features arrive that will need this info, is ready to go.
