Cost Of Goods Plugin

So before discovering ATUM I used a plugin called "WooCommerce Cost of Goods" (https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-cost-of-goods/) which provides an easy intergration to list your original purchased goods item and to get a proper overview on your profit margins.

When installing and exploring ATUM I noticed that sadly enough the records aren't transferred so that I will have to re-add +1000 products of the Purchase Price. I therefore was wondering if there is a way to easily do this? As well to have a proper overview of your profit margin.

In other words it would be handy if either Cost of Goods is previously installed that those records are being used for ATUM and still can be used separately when ATUM or Cost of Goods gets removed.

ATUM Looks really impressive and I am willing to take a look at it, but knowing that I will have to re-add all the purchase price for all the goods this is a bit heavy to take and directly migrate to.

Any suggestion is welcome to solve this or make both plugins work hand in hand!

I am glad you like ATUM and that you think is impressive. The think is that ATUM is only a baby that has just started to grow. As you can imagine there is tons of users asking tons of different features. COG is one of the features we have on the list for a while. It will certainly come as premium add-on. It will be lot better and lot cheaper than the WC version. The only minus thing is that it will most certainly be 2020 as we have another 3 large projects to do before this.

ATUM can not do profit and loss analysis yet so copying all the PP will benefit the Purchase Order function and the stock value widget that is to be released next month.

Good News! - we are developing tools that help users bulk edit, change their setup. If you are willing to give us your copy of the COG plugin, I can have my devs to install it locally and see if we can make such tool available. Feel free to open a private ticket here to send the .zip link to download it.

Thanks a bunch for the fast reply, I've done as requested and submitted a ticket with the plugin file. It is good to know that we're looking at 2020 in terms of development roadmap so I know I don't have to wait pointlessly.

Either way I think updating the stats would be possible by doing a SQL query with copying the data from one field to another. Could you tell me which field I need to look for in ATUM for the purchase price?

We are very close to 1.5 release. The ATUM code changes massively from this version as we are fully prepared for the new WC table system. If you want to manipulate the dB, wait for this release, pls?

Hello!

I'm going to support this request. I have ATUM and the Cost of Goods plugin. But, the two don't seem to work together, even when manually adding the COGS.

I try adding the value in the Cost of Good box, but it can't be saved. No matter if I save the new data or update it, the box is once again blank when the page reloads.

So the using Wordpress Cost of Goods and this would be amazing, but right now they do not work together.

The image above is after I save a value into the box, and you can see it returns blank.

Would be awesome if these two worked together.

Not sure this is an ATUM issue. That field belongs to COG plugin so saving there should not be in any conflict with ATUM. Pls, try contacting the COG devs.

Please, understand, we will never support any COG plugin. We may help copying purchase price data from WooCommerce COG to ATUM, but never any other feature. We will develop our own COG so it makes no sense.

Hi I download your free plugin ,,,same issue like other users Cost of goods.
I already have a system , but recently I move to Woocommerce.
My Old system : cost of good calculated and I can select from the purchase order. So when some product out of stock, then I change cost of goods from recent purchase order inside the product. So product cost will be accurate( not up/less to avoid loss).
Because, every purchase order cost/price depends on fright cost, shipping fee and ..others cost...etc to add up with every product item as avg cost.
Product cost £1 x100= £100 + shipping/others cost£10
So product cost will be £110/100=£1.10 if its make sense
If you develop in future: the cost of goods, then please have your mind ..

Oh nooooo, cost of goods was the main thing I was hoping this plugin would help with! I thought that all of the data would be there if I were to use purchase orders with shipping and cost of product parts, selection of FIFO, and it's all there, just ready to be logged and tallied up! Any word on when this might be available at this point? Thanks!

They pretty much said they're working on some other projects and that this isn't really their main concern. Currently Atum is on the first looks very handy but very lacking in terms of the features more businesses require. It would really be great o see some more expandability but that's on a far time road map as far as I know. So I doubt we'll see anything changed until like 2022 or so.

Hi guys, you need to understand that we have created here a massive, full of great features packed plugin that keeps on growing. As I explained to other users, we are a build on WooCommerce and have to make sure it is fully compatible too. Just to this takes 10% of all or time. We are currently working on improving the PL and MI addons, building the Export/Import, Purchasing addons and fully loaded mobile app with stock take.

We try, but it all cost money and it is not as simple.

COG is very important to us, but not a priority right now. We hope for release second half of 2020.

Another question COG - is there a way to hide this function from my team who has login to woocommerce? As owner, I want to be the only one who has access to COG profit margin but yet I want to give all the ATUM features access to my team.

Long way out, unfortunately - maybe 2021-22.

AndreaRebel Thanks for your reply, do you have a work around for it? E.g the price on purchase orders should be the buy price. The price used to calculate profit which includes shipping etc is cost? Can we use both Attributes with your plugin?

We've not started any work on that COG add-on yet. We are currently working on some other add-ons and the ATUM's mobile App that will be released first.
But we'll take your suggestions into consideration.
