I think, I understand what you mean.
You have products ready for sale that do not need to be connected to BOM and products that have to be connected so will know how many you can physically make.
Well this scenario is something I am trying to implement into the next PL version. We just had a meeting yesterday within the company of how this could be implemented. Remember, we are slightly limited with WC capabilities.
Here are your options for now:
1. You need to have 2 products, one for completed items and one for tone made items.
2. You can do it with variations of a product.
3. Or you need to account the already used BOM within the BOM you stock.
The team and I will for sure automate your scenario in the coming months as we need this functionality for our business that funds the development too.
