Hello,
We're already using your MI plugin for quite some time now and are very pleased with all the features.
Nevertheless our customer now wants to change the way we handle the inventories.
So I wanted to ask if this is possible with the MI plugin and also how I need to configure it for this behavior.
If it's not possible with the MI configuration, do you have an idea for a workaround?
Current status:
We do have 26 shipping zones, which all have the same shipping methods (delivery), and therefore also 26 inventories per product. One inventory for each shipping zone. All the shipping zones are restricted to some postal codes near the store location and they do not overlap each other.
What we need:
The shop user should be able to somehow select between delivery and pick up. If the shop user wants delivery there should be no choice for him what inventory is used. Just like it is right now, there's only one available.
However if the shop user prefers the pick up option he should be able to select whatever inventory/store he wants to.
In other words: There should be one delivery option and in this case right now 26 pick up locations. The delivery option should always use one of the 26 inventories based on the postal code.
Quick Example with three stores:
I will just assume there's one store in each of those cities: New York, Washington and Philadelphia
Each store has it's own inventory.
Customer located in New York can choose from:
- Pick Up in New York
- Pick Up in Washington
- Pick Up in Philadelphia
- Delivery (which uses the inventory from the store in New York)
Customer located in Washington can choose from:
- Pick Up in New York
- Pick Up in Washington
- Pick Up in Philadelphia
- Delivery (which uses the inventory from the store in Washington)
I tried to explain it as detailed as possible to avoid any misunderstandings 😅
Just tell me if you still have questions about it.
I also looked through the other discussions and found this one here. This guy sadly did not respond so I opened a new discussion. I think he wanted to achieve kind of the same thing. Multiple inventories but only one of them does delivery. The difference to my case here is probably that in my case the inventory which offers delivery is always the closest one not always the same one.
Thanks for your help!
