Allow customers to buy products that are in the Inbound Stock

Hello,

How could I, with the atum features and plugins that are already available right now and with a bit of creativity, allow customers to buy products that are not in stock at ATUM but I have already issued the purchase order and they should reach me up to date following?

If a product is Out Of Stock and you allow backorders, the user will be able to buy the products.

I am also very much looking for this feature.

But meanwhile if I was to use the method you suggest (using Allow Backorders), it would be possible to oversell a product that is on its way into stock but not yet available?

Is there a way to limit backorders of an item to a set amount (that would match the amount of stock due to arrive)?

Could there be a paid Add On in this? I'm sure it would be a sought after feature ;-)

There is no any method to limit the backorders (unless you use custom development, but us we don't offer this service you should contact a developer).

In any case, something you can try is to use our premium add-on ATUM Multi-Inventory. The main feature of this add-on is the possibility to sell a single product to different parts of the world, but it has another features that could be useful for you.

So, you can create two inventories for your products. One with the limit backorders items so you can sell the product from this inventory when actually there is no stock, and the other one with the stock that arrives to your warehouse. So you will be always able to track the stock of the product. You can write off the limit backorders inventory when you have real stock to sell.
